Adam J. Cohen
Adam J. Cohen is a co-founder of FundNav and a higher education advancement professional with experience in fundraising, stewardship, and institutional finance. He holds a master's degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from New York University, where he specialized in higher education finance.
After serving in advancement and operational roles at Stony Brook University, the University of Missouri, and nonprofit organizations, Adam repeatedly encountered the same challenge: institutions often struggled to manage philanthropy after a gift was made. That friction affected the fundraising experience as donors looked to see the full power of their gifts come to life. Restricted funds frequently sat underutilized, gift agreements were difficult to interpret, and critical institutional knowledge remained siloed across departments.
Before moving into advancement, Adam worked in student affairs across residential life, student life, and student organization management. Those experiences helped shape FundNav. By combining firsthand advancement expertise with practical technology, Adam is helping colleges and universities modernize post-gift administration, improve operational efficiency, and translate donor intent into meaningful institutional impact.
